A fantastic book following the legacy of an Ancient Greek text and its importance for 4 characters in different eras.

Fantasy ‘dark academia’ mixed with social commentary on legacy of book conservation, climate change, AI, and history. The ancient text which is translated at the beginning of each chapter is pivotal for Anna and Omeir, who find the codex in the midst of a battle in Constantinople; for Zeno and Seymour, for whom the codex becomes a way to view their world in the modern day; and for Konstance, who, onboard a spaceship travelling to another planet after the destruction of Earth, uses the novel as a way to engage with the human condition. The four sub narratives are well intertwined and it is a testament to Doerr’s storytelling.

There is more to this than meets the eye!
