Some of this book was AMAZING. But there were parts which felt like they were dragging.

I wanted to like this book more than I did. The world and the characters were interesting, and I liked that the plot took precedence over the romance. I was disappointed in the FMC though. We are told she is calculating and highly intelligent. We are told she has no friends and can’t trust anyone because of Kaden’s hold on the world. Yet, she keeps trusting every dang person and getting burned time and time again by people who clearly have red flags.

Will I still read the sequel? Yes.

I think this is more a case of wrong person, wrong book than that the book is bad. It is hard for me to get into Urban fantasy. From what reviews I have read it is pretty good; I am not the intended audience.
