The main character is unredeemable. The mother is terrible. If a teen is reading this book they will feel defeated. Trying for body positivity but the main character acts like that's not possible. 1 star
One of my favorite reads! It was so cute & character development had me really happy to see. This is the book that got me started into the cutsey romance genre! Can’t wait to read all of them!
I probably would’ve devoured this whole series as a teen.
Full of cliches and rampant with fatphobia but still cute and while I wish all fiction could let fat girls just be fat with no mention of diets or mean girls, I also know that since those things still happen it can be nice to see it turn out well. Though I do wish just once they would explain the bet earlier and that that’s not really why they like them but here we are again. The rift with the friends seemed way too forced and abrupt. Like I get the reason but can’t believe all it took was like 2 texts from someone who was clearly having a bad day anyway.

What a stupid book to cry my eyes out in. I'm very average, not super skinny, but pretty average in weight, but growing up with early 2000s diet culture has impacted me (probably more than I realise) as well as having a mother who means well but tells me i should eat something healthy when I want a snack, or mentions whenever I gain weight (but somehow never notices when I lose it) the relationship with the mother really hit me hard.
Curvy girls deserve love too.
The self deprecation was sometimes I lot to sit through, but it is pretty accurate. It's definitely a good book.

This was so sweet and fun to read! This is a series I could have really used in high school and college so while it wasn’t perfect or written for 27 year old me, I love and appreciate it so much. Definitely gonna continue the series!
