It was cheesy but also really cute, I enjoyed reading the book. Rory is over weight because she PCOS, which I’m glad there’s a book out there mentioning it because not a lot of people know what that is. I really felt bad for her, she’s got the typical mean girls at school making fun of her weight but then she also has her mom who’s so weight conscious and doesn’t understand what’s she’s doing to Rory mentally by always talking about her weight and making her go on diets.
The book is body positive and great for young readers who are struggling to love themselves. The romance between her and Beckett was just too cute, he’s really sweet and also another person who doesn’t want attention for his looks and social status.

I just didn’t like that she got bullied from most of the school but she was the one who got in trouble. Sure he got embarrassed but what they all did was worse.

4.5/5

Really cute, short, predictable, quirky read. I liked it a lot! Loved the PCOS representation in a YA book.

3.5 stars

It was a very sweet high school coming of age type book. Very minimal romance aside from some PG kisses.

I loved Rory’s character and my heart absolutely broke for her and her weights struggles. The way her mother treated her was absurd and filled me with rage. Even after she tried to justify herself, I was still so upset with her!

I loved the curvy girls club! The little support system that Rory had found was so good for her self-esteem! Each girl brought something valuable to the table.

Beckett’s character was so darn perfect. I loved him the entire read. I just wished there was a little more to the drama aspect of things and more exploration into Beckett’s POV and his feelings for Rory.

It's an okay for me. The second-hand embarrassment at the end urghhhh. Did the writer really need to write it like that duhh

When I say this book spoke to my soul, I mean I felt SEEN, in every thought, every comment, every single emotion Rory felt. I’ve felt it at some point in my life.

I haven’t cried since reading SJM House of Earth and Blood, but this one? I sobbed, sobbed so hard I couldn’t see the words on the page. I had to put the book down to let it out, before continuing.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve felt the same way Rory has, everything from “a fat girl like you, couldn’t possibly date a hot guy” to “fat means you’re worthless”. Rory and her new friends, The Curvy Girls Club, create a bond all while trying to help Rory stand up to their bully. By getting the quarterback to fall for her.

The quarterback Rory has been crushing on for years! Rory quickly learns that there’s more to Beckett than just being the quarterback. He’s kind, considerate, loving, and possibly the best guy she’s ever met.

Their relationship progresses effortlessly. Even though Rory, like most girls, has self issues. Beckett makes her feel the one thing she’s never felt before, desired. I adore this story so much, I’ll be reading it again. For now? I’ll probably pick up book two!

I encourage ANYONE to read this book. ANYONE, especially if you’ve ever felt rejected, unloved, unworthy, or just plain unwanted.

I’m going to come back to this review so hang tight
