Interesting world building. Difficult to read due to the fact it did not have chapters just four parts to divide the novel. The point of view was also first person and mostly internal monologue that wandered a lot.

I really want to enjoy this book a lot more but I feel like it gets SOOO bogged down in between the interesting parts. I also don't think the author describes the world well enough. I'm reading an electronic version and come across stuff and think 'it's either something I don't get that hasn't been explained or it's some kind of typo.'
Having said that I like the different angle she has on the whole vampire thing. They are considered monsters and don't do the whole 'mysterious, black-clad, intriguing stranger' thing (though sometimes that fine!). What's interesting is that for being a vamp book, they really aren't in it too much, which I think is one of the issues I'm having. I'm half way through and I want to know more about the Con/Bo nemesis stuff. We'll see.

Slow to start but glimpses of a very good vampire tale. On the back cover, it compares the heroine with Buffy...take that as a warning for the type of humor within. This suits me fine, so it's not a problem.

Update 3/25/08:
Finished this several weeks ago, just didn't get around to reviewing it. Turned out to be a surprisingly good book,only bad point is that author has no plans for sequel anytime soon.
