Overall it was a great informative memoir. At times it was slow but it still was engaging.

It was a good book, and it intriguing to see how the author learned of his own psychopathy. There were insights that helped better understand how someone could be a psychopath, but also successful in life. Despite the amount of scientific facts, which read fairly dryly at times, there were still an onslaught of personal opinions on the authors part. Would I read it again or suggest it to a friend? Probably not, but it was worth the read to me.

I was fascinated by the premise of this book, but it actually turned out to be less exciting than I thought it would be. There was a lot of technical jargon. I feel for neuroscientists and neurologists everywhere (although, of course, to them this would be much easier to absorb). Seriously speaking, though, it was still very interesting overall to learn about what contributes to being a psychopath and to see how someone who doesn't identify as one looks at his life experiences through a different lens after realizing he is genetically predisposed to be one. As someone the author would probably think of as "boring," some of the experiences he describes in the book definitely raised some red flags, but it's interesting to see how to the author, it's hard to see there's anything wrong with what he's doing.

A fascinating read, especially because I can see Fallon’s psychopathy in his style of writing/voice. People need to read this if for no other reason than it subverts the old stereotype that all psychopaths are murderers.

This was really fascinating. It was particularly neat to see the psychological effect of finding out that one's brain is similar to psychopathic killers (the author also discovered that his family has a number of domestic killers). The text was relatively easy to read for a non-science person, there were only a few times the language got a bit technical. Fallon is clearly passionate about the subject of his research.
