Cooking show contestants become love interests! This was a nice rom com book to round out my queer books for June. Not my favorite genre but the characters were sweet, if not a bit predictable.

This was a super fun and cute read set on a cooking competition show - super up my alley. The leads were both a little dorky in a really endearing and realistic way, and the conflicts in the book felt reasonable and realistic. I only wish we’d gotten to know the side characters a little more!
Edit: bumped down to 4 stars from 4.25 because the more I think about this book. the less I loved it. Still a fun read though.

I was so disappointed by this book. I wanted to like it (queer love story!!! cooking competition!!! nb lead!!!!) but Dahlia was so annoying and I really could not get past it.

Very sweet queer love and gender diverse representation. I will say some of the plot points didn’t make sense,like Dahlia was a great cook that could do so much at first but then people would be surprised she made it far. It felt like the author changed who they wanted to win the end competition . Though they came together in the end, it was a pretty simple quick read.
To think that I almost did not finish this one.
Three stars is quite harsh, but I thought the beginning was SO SLOW. I went back to recheck this out after finals, and I loved the ending! London and Dahlia are the perfect pair. Made me cry when Dahlia came out as queer to her mom.
