DID NOT FINISH

DNF at 30%. It’s cute and quirky. The story itself isn’t terrible but lacking in magic. It felt dry. And I can not handle Daliha’s character. The way she talked and dismissed everything London said was annoying and rude at times. I am assuming it was supposed to be “cute banter” but it wasn’t cute or healthy communication at all.

Delightful cooking show setting that was structured like a Top Chef/GBBS hybrid. The characters read clunky to me, and some of the elements of their relationship (e.g., their class differences) were brought up repeatedly but never explored in a satisfying way.

This book was so cute and I loved the glimpses into the cooking components because that part is always so interesting to me in cooking romance novels

Dahlia’s vibrant and larger-than-life personality, while just as skillfully embodying London’s more reserved and thoughtful demeanor. The way she allows you to truly feel Dahlia’s presence is nothing short of amazing! Together, London and Dahlia are the perfect yin and yang. Even as someone who doesn’t usually enjoy cooking, cooking shows, or reality television, I found this book’s magic irresistible—all thanks to Anita Kelly and Lindsey Dorcus!

I’m still crying while writing this review after sitting in the same spot without moving ever since I started the book today. Save to say, it’s gonna take a while to come down from the rush this beautiful read gave me.

This book.. oh wow. I was not prepared for the level of pure sweetness, charmingly honest characters and sizzling tension. The balance between hilarious and lighthearted banter, nerdy flirting and raw, multi dimensional and real characters full of struggles and insecurities was just perfect. I laughed so much, I cried almost as much from sheer emotional overload. This is the BEST kind of books and I’m so so so glad I finally picked it up. I already know it’s gonna be a constant re-read to chase that wholesomeness.
