I enjoyed this one a lot. It's pretty low on the conflict/angst, though there are some transphobic side characters, it's totally more of a sweet queer romance story.
The conflict parts felt a little bit underwhelming, like there weren't a whole lot of challenges the relationship had to go through, which isn't a bad thing but you'd have to be in the mood for something like that. I think especially the difference in class/financial situation that was introduced was never properly talked about between the MCs so the epilogue didn't land quite right.

It made me smile a lot, the relationship dynamics were good, and I read it fast despite still kinda being in reading slunp territory.
I also wish the side characters were more developped and we saw more friendships because it felt like the MCs didn't have many people around them except for the LI and their family which I always find a little sad, and I always love some good friendships, but it's like a personal taste thing more than a flaw of the book itself.

I feel very neutral about this book. It didn't delve deep into the MCs time on the cooking show, or their time away from it. It somehow stayed fairly surface level on everything, other than the MCs feelings for each other which develop quickly.
It's a quick, lighthearted read.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. More than anything, the setting was so creative and unique and unlike any other romance book I've read. I loved the dual POV, especially being in the minds of characters who were so different in their life experiences. I loved that they were both already confident in their identities. I'm sick of every sapphic or queer love story being a identification crisis, I want characters who know what they like already since I've already been through that crisis and don't need to always re experience it. The chemistry between these two is unmatched and I loved every second of this story!

Loved loved loved this book. I am FIRMLY here for romance novels with diverse representation. Throw in some fun cooking competition and you've got me. Dahlia and London's romance is a lovely exploration of self-esteem and being seen and loved for exactly who you are. I LOVED that London, as a pan, nonbinary person who expressed they hadn't been in many relationships, was GOOD AT SEX and owned it. No offense to anyone who enjoys the sort of exploratory vibe of inexperienced partners, but I just think it's rad that the writer chose to make London comfortable with the physical expression of sex throughout their identity journey. Big ups. I did wish the descriptions of the food the competitors made was a little more creative - I've seen these shows, these people are incredible and make outrageously amazing food. Otherwise, this book was tops.
