I found this so readable and couldn’t put it down at points. I love the character Idabel and the way he described the swampy landscape. It was mysterious and really reeled you in. Must read more Capote.

Loved the beginning of this one. However, I was totally lost about 70 pages from the end until the end. Still plan on reading his other book, but I can't say I ended up really enjoying this one when major concepts went right over my head. I'm glad we discussed it with one of my bookclubs and know more of the back story and the importance this book had at the time.
