Pretty easy read (did on a four-hour flight). Barrymore writes very conversational and the essays/chapters jump around throughout various times in her life.

Nothing special, was kind of boring. Love Drew though
In many ways, reading this book of stories from Drew Barrymore's life felt like chatting with a friend you're just getting to know. Some of the stories are funny, some touching, and others you sort of sit through even when they aren't that interesting. It seemed clear to me that Drew wrote every word of this book herself (for better or worse - this woman loves exclamation points!!!!), and her warmth and positivity really comes through on every page. This book certainly isn't life-changing, but I enjoyed reading Drew's perspective on her unique life. She easily could have burned out at a very young age, but her determination and unwillingness to become a victim of her circumstance makes her story inspiring and encouraging.

I didn't love it. I read this because the House that Lars Built chose this as their book club book and I thought it sounded interesting. But she never went in to the fact that she really did have a crazy childhood. She alluded to it ALL THE TIME but failed to really talk about what was going on so I felt like it was just superficial meandering thoughts of Drew. Thumbs down.
