Since the age of 14, I have harboured a deep love for vampire romance that may or may not definitely have been triggered by Twilight. So of course, I had to pick up this book.
And I'm pretty happy with this book. I like the concept of vampires holding a tentative celebrity status in the modern world, I was intrigued by the idea of houses of vampires with blood donors, and I was naturally excited by a forbidden vampire-donor romance.
The story is fast paced enough, but the plot and mystery elements feel predictable. This book is rather unoriginal in my opinion - it feels like just another addition to the many vampire romance books out there, albeit a decent addition. The romance itself was very instalove and I thought the characters and relationships on the whole lacked depth.
Despite that, I still enjoyed the premise and it was fun to read. If you absolutely love vampire romance fiction and you don't mind reading the same tropes and devices again in a slightly different setting, this might be a good choice for you.

I honestly enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Obviously there is a reason this is getting published but as it came from wattpad my expectations were a little lower. However I've been in this vampire mood lately and because of that I really enjoyed it. I thought the points of views of the main character and love interest were interesting and although I was able to figure out the ~mystery~ pretty early on in the book it didn't necessarily ruin the book when it was revealed later on. I also really liked how the love interest actually talks about his background more, it gave him more depth which I feel is important for these types of main characters. Also enjoyed the slightly older characters, like they're more college age which is nice because i relate more to that now, although it did read more like a typical younger YA paranormal.

This book was exactly what I needed. It had everything - an interesting story line I never heard of before, a strong FMC, a slow burn forbidden romance, a revolution, secrets, murder, and vampires.

Livre vraiment cliché, assez bateau, après ça reste un livre ado/jeune adulte donc c'est normal. En fait, j'étais un peu perturbée par le fait que l'histoire soit vraiment concon, tout comme les réflexions du personnage principal, mais en même temps il y avait certains aspects qui me paraissaient trop cru pour être dans la section ado (sexe ou gore), bien que ça restait léger. Renie m'a souvent soule parce qu'elle se veut mature alors qu'elle ne l'est pas du tout, elle n'a aucun recul sur les choses. En tout cas, ça reste une lecture sympathique mais parce que plate, on sait qu'on va pas se prendre la tête, ça reste très chill.

I checked this out from the library randomly and saw Wattpad books and got so scared LOL.
but this book ended up being a lot of fun. It definitely isn't too unique story-wise compare to other YA vampire books but the writing is great!
