Here are my ratings and some tiny reviews for all 14 stories in this collection:
1. Autopsy Room Four: 5 stars
Horrifying. Hilarious. Phenomenal. I was reading this and publicly cringing enough for my dad to put a hold on this book too.
2. The Man in the Black Suit: 3 stars
3. All That You Love Will Be Carried Away: 3 stars
4. The Death of Jack Hamilton: 5 stars
Compelling, sad, endearing, I love Jack Hamilton
5. In the Death Room: 2 stars
I’m sorry but King’s terrible narration and bad accents distracted me the entire time and made this seem fake
6. The Little Sisters of Eluria: 5 stars
Not gonna lie this was a banger and I had JUST finished The Gunslinger. It was meant to be.
7. Everything’s Eventual: 4 stars
8. LT’s Theory of Pets: 3 stars
9. The Road Virus Heads North: 4 stars
10. Lunch at the Gotham Cafe: 3 stars
11. That Feeling You Can Only Say What It Is In French: 4 stars
The ending of this one had me SHOOK
12. 1408: 4 stars
13. Riding the Bullet: 3 stars
14. Luckey Quarter: 2 stars
Just returned this on Libby, have fun dad!

This was the next official one in my Stephen King re-read—though I had to take time out to read the new one first, and that may have been a mistake—and while this absolutely had some bangers, overall, it's not up there with NIGHT SHIFT, or DIFFERENT SEASONS, or BAZAAR OF BAD DREAMS. Some of the stories truly didn't seem to go anywhere, such as L.T.'S THEORY OF PETS. Still, for every L.T. there was a 1408.
This book is a collection of 14 short stories that could be said to focus on death in the main, albeit tangentially on occasions. Like anything it's a variable feast. None were particularly bad, I'm just less into King's "Dark Tower" series, for example, and there was a prequel to that series in this collection.
Personally I liked "All that you love will be taken away", which is a story about a man considering suicide, which was well written, but it, like many of the stories in the book will leave you feeling blah afterwards (because of the subject matter), so I'd suggest reading it in short doses.
