The concept drew me in but it lost me with the heavy handed pregnancy throughline. While I love stories about punishing men, I wish it went deeper than 2nd wave #girlboss feminism. I enjoyed the writing but the themes were not for me.

great story following 3 generations of “Weyward Women”. Each faced misery at the hand of men. Its a great feminist read, lots of empowerment. While it wasnt the most incredible story ever, it got the point across and kept my interest. I do wish they had done something more grand with Althas story, i felt it was a bit boring and lackluster in comparison to Kate and Violets story. I really liked the whole “switching between the characters/timelines” as it went on. I know lots of readers didnt like that because it was easy to get lost but if you follow along, i found it pretty easy to stay with and i felt it added a lot to the story actually.

I liked the vibe of this - cycling through the stories of the different women in very different eras was interesting and made for a quick read - but my main issue was that it felt predictable. I started the book knowing it was about witches and felt like I was halfway in with characters still starting to suspect things were witchy.

Crows and witches and nature and feminine power. I really liked the pace and intertwined stories across time/generations. I liked how each story was told throughout the novel and all came together to form a cohesive narrative.
