This book was recommended to me by my friend who knows me so well apparently. 

I really loved everything about this book. I can also say I have a new favorite author. 

When I say everything I actually mean it! The plot was immaculately planned, the execution was brilliant. The writing style? Don’t get me started there! It was magical. I have zero complaints here. The characters were beautifully crafted as well, having you root for them and worry and stress on their behalf. 

The story was told from multiple POVs through different time periods. It followed the hardships of three different generations of women who have certain magical abilities. There are also some mysteries that unfold by the end of the book. 

I will forever sing this book’s praises to anyone and everyone!

Weyward was an incredible ride following 3 women across generations. Equal parts sad, angry, and hopeful, the stories of the Weyward women will stick with you. All three are tenacious, brilliant, and necessarily brutal in their quests to protect themselves and their families.

The three characters lives were weaved together in such a beautiful way, and while the descriptive language and overall flow of the story kept me interested, there's something holding me back from giving this a rave review. This book has everything I gravitate toward: witches, nature, generational trauma and eloquent writing, but I wish we got ... ugh ... something. Maybe it's the incomplete generational jump between Altha and Violet or the unrealistic unfolding of Kate's life after she left her past relationship. It also feels like we glossed Violet's incredible life that is such a shame for us as readers. And what about Altha and her next chapter?
