This wasn’t what I expected, though I admit I didn’t really read anything about it beforehand besides its cover. I thought this would be a really deep dive into the data behind a few key topics, but it’s actually a general parenting book, with a broad look at data, when there is data. I also found it to be wishy-washy on answers to the questions it looks at, but that’s probably because statistics itself does not lend it to 100% rock hard answers anyway.
This book will be helpful for people, especially new parents before their first baby is born, since a good portion of this book is about newborns. For me, with my 7 month old, it did make me feel better about some decisions we had already made, and shed a bit of light on some upcoming decisions, but definitely didn’t change my life or anything.

This book was good and informative but took me approx 2 years to finish.
I love books written by economists even if the data does not relate to me personally.
Pretty similar to Expecting Better, however slightly different topics covered. Oster continues to do a great job of giving readers the data, interpreting it the best way she can, and letting the reader make a judgement call armed with the information.
As with the first book, it gives a great look at data to give a practical approach.

It's fine but found it a lot less helpful than Expecting Better. Some interesting facts and bits, but also I've probably read it a little late to the game 😅
Oster’s first book was so affirming and helpful for me so I was eager to read this. Cribsheet is not nearly as useful as Expecting Better, but it was moderately helpful to see scientific evidence that I should just keep doing whatever works for my family. 3.5 stars, rounding up because I believe in supporting working moms, the end.
Every parent should read this book. It doesn't provide advice, it provides the data behind the important decisions that parents needs to make. This book was a game changer and following Emily Oster on Twitter is a treat!
