Very targeted for all the things you go through until 2 to 3. Great, data driven approach with flexibility.

I liked Oster's takes on demystifying the overwhelming number of decisions sleep-deprived new parents have to make in the early days of infanthood. As the book moved to focus on toddlers and young children, it felt a bit repetitive to just point out the dearth of quality research on so many decisions and hot button issues; many chapters just boiled down to "whatever works for your family."

It was fine, I didn’t learn anything new and I feel that some of the research could have been presented more thoroughly but I understand her choice in why that wasn’t done. Also, as someone who is also a trained economist, babe get a hobby?????

Also once again; when will a parenting book be written by someone who did not grow up with a silver spoon in their mouth, or from the perspective of everyday people and their everyday wealth. *yawn*.

I would highly recommend this to expecting parents/new parents/parents of young parents.

I generally enjoyed reading this book as I appreciate data backed information. I would not say I learned anything incredibly helpful, as upon further investigation of data we just learn the flaws of studies…but there is something to be learned from that as well.

I really enjoyed this. As a new mom, it is currently giving me peace of mind that I don't have to do EVERYTHING the "experts" tell you to do. They are guidelines, or best practices, but if I don't follow them 100% everything will be okay. My LO is currently almost 7 weeks and I really feel this book has helped me sleep better at night.
