⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 stars. The slow burn was burning. The plot was epic. All the little twists and turns are perfection. Loving this series!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
I love love this series and absolutely have been sucked in. I will 100% keep reading. I love the way Val fights for her claimed her as his. The way he would destroy anyone and anything that gets between them and their love is INCREDIBLY hot. The sex scene in this was definitely amped up a tad and thank to the writer for that. I understand it’s written the way it is to match the rest of the language in the book. Just wish they were a little longer and a bit more descriptive. Other than that I love the possessiveness Val has for his girl. Great plot as well. More than just a romance.

I’m not going to lie, this book had me a little peeved in the first half by how Valen kept pushing Elise away. The twists and turns of the second half, though, definitely made up for it. In this book, I found myself comparing Valen, Halvar, and Tor with the famous batboys of S. J. Mass’s ACOTAR series. Valen is the vicious and powerful leader, like Rhysand. His love for Elise cannot be compromised. His obsession with giving her choices, just as Rhysand had given Feyre. Halvar is very obviously just like Cassian. General of the army, loves the ladies, and his sense of charming and humor. I look forward to seeing where he and Kari stand at the end of all of this. Tor is the dangerously quiet one, just like Azriel. This whole series so far keeps calling to my other favorite book series and I thoroughly enjoy every second of it.

Calder and Runa are monsters. Not like that’s shocking, but I had to say it. I long to know what happens to Sol, a twist very much like From Blood and Ash, when the older brother destined for the throne has been battered and bruised into submission by the false king and queen. Will Sol be found out to be a willing accomplice? Or will he be the shadow of himself, the ghostly Sun Prince Valen and his shade once knew, we saw at the very end of this book? Time will tell.

My one complaint? The spicy scenes aren’t as spicy as I’d like them, and they’re few and far between. Maybe with Valen and Elise’s acceptance of their love for each other now, we’ll see more. Can’t wait to start the next book in the series!

I liked that in this book you get a new POV, Legion’s. I liked going back and forth between Elise and Legion’s narratives. I am now able to grasp how the magic (fury) works which helps me enjoy it more. I really liked the friendships in this book. There was no romance for the first 50% of the book and I missed it. I also found Legion annoying at times which is why I rated it 3 ⭐️s
