It kind of teaches you not to mess around with things. Most of all, it's just a funny fictional/fantasy story. It's really good, though.

This book was so silly and fun. Normally, I do not like worms, but Fip (and his human friends) were all so lovable and fun. The book also touched on themes of fitting in, friendship, and thinking through one’s decisions. Plus, who doesn’t love the combination of words and magic? Some of the characters/situations could have been more deeply developed and I wish that the funny illustrations at the end were incorporated throughout. However, I will be definitely recommending this book to my students.

Fun book. Kids will really enjoy this one.

Lerner finds a magic worm named Fip. Fip eats words, and when Fip eats a word, that thing disappears from the world. The premise is very interesting, but the author chose to take it in a bunch of silly directions.

A fast read, good character development and conversation worthy moral dilemmas. A good selection for struggling readers.

This book is seriously about the struggle for power and the consequences of having it and it shows it through clubs in school. Then when Lerner fins Fip she has power then stuff goes wrong and Lerner has to give it up.
