I don't know if I've just read too many smutty romance books and need a break or if it was just the book itself, but I was pretty bored while reading. It took a week for me to read, which is pretty long for me, and each time I picked it up, I had to glance through the previous chapter(s) to remember what happened.
I enjoyed the banter between Hannah and Rafe, but it wasn't enough to keep my attention. I didn't care enough about the characters to care what happened. There was an actual plot to the story of Hannah working through her past trauma of the werewolf attack that turned her, and Rafe working through his own emotions on what he wants out of this job and setting his own boundaries. It was definitely great to see Moon have Hannah struggle after her werewolf attack and try to work through the emotions of being a werewolf. I was reminded of how sexual assault and rape survivors work through their trauma, and it was well-written and caring towards those who have gone through this kind of trauma.

I thought this was a cute light hearted read, but overall felt a little underwhelmed. I wasn’t in love with the characters, and found myself bored at times.
I do think the werewolf/ gargoyle dynamic was new and Hannah’s personal struggles with her transition and career were different from the usual boilerplate heroine from many monster romances.

This was just so sweet, though i thought the ending climax was a little jarring. But overall, i really liked this book and now I’m back to waiting until the next book in the series is out…

What a perfectly sweet monster romance
I loved this book from the characters - Hannah, still coming to terms with being a werewolf and Rafe, the gargoyle who helps her in more ways than one. I liked the cameos and the story. And, look, if you like sweet monster romance with low drama, lots of adorable moments and spice then this is definitely for you.
