Great insight into missionary work, evangelical extremism, and how experiences can impact people in different ways. I loved that each chapter was from a different point of view from each child who were different ages. Was a great read!

I really love epics like this and this novel was so masterfully written. Kinda perfectly checks all my interest boxes: american imperialism, colonialism, evangelical christianity... long but worth the read.
