Singer, song writer, business woman, philanthropist--what can't Dolly Parton do? Now she has added author to her resume, and written a thriller with James Patterson (added plus: she's also released a music album to go with the book; lyrics to the songs are included in the book).

A young woman flees home and hitchhikes to Nashville, with dreams of becoming a country music star. AnnieLee sleeps in parks and begs for gigs in low rent dives, when she meets session musician Ethan Burke, who immediately recognizes her talent. He introduces her to the charismatic star Ruthanna (a thinly disguised Dolly Parton).

This is an easy read, with lots of interesting details about the music world. There's a bit of romance, and the mystery of AnnieLee's past (which fell a bit flat for me). A good beach read, especially if you're a country music/Dolly Parton fan.

This is another book I didn’t finish. What I read was so-so. I was about 75% done when hoopla kept messing up and I just didn’t care enough to finish it.
