For the most part this felt more like a mysterious RomCom than a Thriller, never the less I enjoyed each minute of it. I honestly think it's the full cast - especially Dolly Parton and Kelsea Ballerini - that made it so likeable.
It's a quaint story and if you won't mind the that the thrilling part only comes way at the end, I would definitely recommend listening to the Audiobook.

This is a solidly fun book, dripping with Parton’s charm and likability. However, it is not a thriller as advertised.
The characters themselves are great. While AnnieLee is a bit of a Mary Sue at times, the supporting gang around her feel like a universe you’d like to find yourself in. And the rising star narrative plays well. It does pace as if the thriller portion was an afterthought, sprung in as a Patterson staple but coming off wholly unnecessary. It’s never going to click having a Big Bad whose name we don’t learn until there’s 50 pages or less of story remaining.
Overall this is fun for what it eventually becomes, but it’s not a thrill a minute if you’re expecting such.

2.5 stars.
Almost gave up on this one but the last 3rd of it was much better. The first 2/3rd was just too good to be true. When everything was revealed it was much more interesting.
