3.5⭐ rounded down.
Things I liked:
-I haven't been to Nashville, so this felt like a mini trip
-I like the idea of this book and what it could be
Things I didn't like:
-At times, this felt like a Hallmark movie. I often inwardly rolled my eyes with some of the characters and their comments.
-I've said this with other books, but I often wondered why every character is so obsessed with the main character (both good and bad). In this book, it was a superstar, her entire band, her past, the barkeep, the record people? Someone has to think she's just.. meh. But everyone pauses their life and becomes obsessed with her??
-The ending/ her past is dangled in front of us the entire book and she refuses to tell anyone about her past. So by the end at the big reveal, its almost impossible to top the anticipation I've built for almost 400 pages.
Things other people would like:
- I dont know "the greats" of country music. I would have liked this book more if I knew them- a lot of references went over my head.

The story was about what I expected - entertaining and good background for walking and cleaning. But the audiobook production, which included Dolly Parton reading a part, was fantastic.
