I wasn't too sure about this one when I first started. The dialect and country sayings seemed a bit too pronounced at the beginning. I'm glad I stuck with it, because it was a really solid read. 3.5/5 ⭐️

AnnieLee is trying to make it big in Nashville as a singer/songwriter. She's been chased by bad luck and is hiding some dangerous secrets. When she befriends Nashville legend and a handsome singer, her luck really starts to turn. Soon, she's recording albums and is touring a small circuit. Soon her past catches up to her. As readers we don't really know what secret she is hiding or who she is running from until much later in the book. Some of the storyline seemed a bit far-fetched and unrealistic, but it was an enjoyable read.

I’m not a big fan of Jame Patterson, so I picked this up for Dolly.

Meh.

Book is probably more a 3 -3.5 but i listened on audio and it was a Great audio performance with a full cast including Dolly Parton and Kelsea Ballerini.

I wanted to like this book for Dolly, so I gave it two stars. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed her voice. It, that’s about it. Yikes. I disliked just about everything about this book. It could have been half the length. Frivolous fluff just to make it longer. SUPER CLICHE and CHEESY. Main characters romantic relationship annoyed me. Can someone explain to me why romantically involved characters have to be whiney and dramatic in books?
You will name any and all all plot twists. This book was a “thriller,” but I surely did not find it thrilling.

Couldn’t get into it.

I’m just so tired of a dainty little white girl being rescued by a big, strong man.

I absolutely loved listening to this! Having different narrators for each character was awesome, especially since Dolly was one of them. I don't usually like male authors, and I've never actually read Patterson before, but I definitely enjoyed this one. Highly recommend listening versus reading!

Highly recommend the audiobook - giving 5 stars for that. Might have been 4 stars if paperback, but great book that had me sucked in
