I’m a sucker for books about music and then you add Dolly in to the mix??? Like come on, y’all know I was going to love this. Was it an amazing, stick with you, book hangover kind of read? No. But it was entertaining and fun and I LOVED listening to the soundtrack alongside it. It was like a Nicholas Sparks story mixed with the show Nashville and I am here for it.

I really wanted to like this book. I just felt it was very predictable. There were a few things that happened in the book that made me think “Really?” *insert eyeroll* If Dolly wasn’t a part of this book I would give it 1 star.

Run, Rose, Run is an electrifying thriller crafted by the masterful storytelling of James Patterson, following a rising singer-songwriter on the run, fighting to survive and claim her destiny. Set in the world of Nashville's glitz and danger, this novel weaves a gripping tale of passion and peril, showcasing the unparalleled talent of America's favorite entertainer and #1 bestselling author.

3.5 stars…it took too long to get me hooked, but from halfway to the end, I enjoyed it. However, I get like the ending wrapped up too quickly without enough details.

It took me forever to get through this book. It was good book but strolled on for entirely too long.

The storyline was very slow to progress. It was also a little cringy because of the way the lyrics were written (no offense to Dolly). The ending came up quick and as soon as it came, the book ended.
Still very good and kept me interested. 4 stars!
