Liked the story but it was such a long book, honestly didn't need to be this long to get the story across. Could've easily been half the length.

This is my second James Patterson book and I was purely compelled to read it by my love for Dolly Parton.
I thought it was an interesting mystery and fun story of the Nashville music scene, which I'm sure Dolly knows well, but I don't know what it was about being set in present day that I didn't love. I started out the book thinking this might not be modern day, but then of course the mentions of technology and social media told me this was modern day and AnnieLee Keyes is a modern country star while Dolly Parton...doesn't exist? Despite the many mentions of actual classic and modern day country stars. I'm not sure why it bothered me so much but I really felt like if this had been set in a different time, I would have liked it better.
The mystery was a bit predictable but I don't usually go into mysteries thinking I'm going to be bamboozled or blindsided, so I won't fault it for that. An overall fun read that was easy to fly through!

Intrigued with the Dolly/Patterson authorship. Kept going because of the audiobook readers, however it had a pretty disappointing plot/character development
Fun, quick read with short chapters you can easily finish before you fall asleep. I highly recommend listening to Dolly’s songs written specifically for the book - it made the book that much more enjoyable.
