Pretty forgettable book. It was so slow, not really sure if I would consider most of the book a thriller, more literary fiction. I liked the country music aspect and music in general. I listened to Dolly’s album after finishing the book. Nothing was really thrilling in my opinion, could have been done better.
Recommended by Mom. Easy listen, love me some Dolly! Read as an audiobook.
I will consume anything Dolly Parton creates. Highly recommend the audiobook, which features a full cast of actors, including Dolly Parton!

Such a disappointment :( I can't believe it took 94 chapters to really hit two key plot points. Almost every chapter said the same thing with little progression. :(
I struggled with this one. Not because it was bad because it was good it just wasn't a book for me. I am a country music hater. I didn't really enjoy things until about 45% in and I just wanted to know what the secret was that annielee was hiding. I was over the back and forth with the romance. Will they or won't they. The more I read I didn't even care about the secret. I kind of wanted to be done with the book. Many things were predictable and just dragged and repeated before they got to what was constantly hinted.I think the ending was kind of anti-climatic and I was expecting more of a BOOM.
I have a love/hate with James Patterson. I enjoy his writing but there is a certain aspect to it when I'm reading I wonder what's wrong with me because I don't normally like it. This was a good story that kept you guessing what was going on.

This was a bit of a disappointment for me. It's a tired old story. A girl with a hidden, secret past. The boy who falls in love with her and saves the day, blah, blah. Except in this one she's a country music singer. It's written well enough, It just feels like I've read it before, only by a different author.
