It was fine. Just kinda meh. The audio performance was good though. And maybe I’m going to hell for saying this but Dolly Parton talks like she’s got marbles in her mouth.

The Good
The Good
- The behind the scenes of the music industry- INTERESTING
- The full cast narration- THIS is the way to read this book
- Everybody gets a happy ending, even Ruthanna!
- All of the side characters including those that barely were on the page (truck drivers, cops, etc.) felt like full, realized people we could have spent more time with
The Bad
- The ending- too abrupt and the revealed mystery felt a little anticlimactic
Overall, quite an entertaining read and a good reminder that Dolly is a good actress and should narrate more books!

A good book with some suspense. It was a predictable plot without too many surprises. I liked the story line and found the characters to be likeable and well developed.
