I liked the starving Nashville artist storyline and How to Make It in country music. The whole book has a thread of the main character's haunted past. I found the reveal in the end quite cliche and didn't finish the last ~40 pages of the book in anger...

Overall I'd say I enjoyed this book, but it wasn't my favorite. I was expecting a lot more of a thriller aspect, especially from the first chapter, but it was mostly a story about a young country musician trying to make it. It was a good story but just not what I was expecting, and the thriller aspect revealed towards the end left me a little disappointed and wanting more.
