I had never enjoyed comics before, so when I started reading this collection I was very surprised. The way the text and the panels are organized is very clean and orderly which makes this very easy to read even for those who don't usually consume stories in this medium. I loved how the dark colors fit the overall tragic and hopeless feel of the story; and I really enjoyed how violent it all was, because that really drove home how oppressive emotions and decisions were for the characters. I loved all the 12 issues and I definitely think this will be one of those stories that stay with me for a long time.

If you want to see the line between comics and literature blurred, this is for you.
If anyone ever tells you comics are just for children, give them this and watch their reality crumble just as Vision's did.
If you just want to read a very good comic which is fast becoming a classic, settle down with a cup of tea/coffee and simply enjoy.
Tom King has written some powerful stuff in the past few years, and this is perhaps only the tip of the iceberg.

sad

Not what I was expecting, in a good way. It's a fascinating tragedy that uses circumstance and character to full effect. It's profoundly sad without being depressing.

An amazing entry into comics, this explores a premise that isn't too unusual in Sci-Fy, androids wishing to be human, and it predictably goes wrong.

However, the use of characters many readers know and recognize, but written in a different light makes the story come alive. While this is a marvel story, it reads and is drawn like a science fiction master piece. Color is subtly used to promote certain moods and feelings.

Comic panes end up works of art, able to provoke emotional responses from the readers, without the use of any speech bubbles.

The story itself in many ways is a tragedy, but the journey of the Visions is also an exploration of humanity, and what it means to be human.

If you are hoping for a story filled with heroics, action, and humor, this is not the story for you. However, if you want a story that is filled with subtlety, emotion, discussions of right and wrong, of humanity, and the things that make us human, this is the story for you.

Despite depicting a bleak turn of events, the story has a combination of dark humor and creepiness that I loved.

Despite all these amazing things, I felt like it ended very abruptly, especially after some of the foreshadowing earlier in the story. It was still a good and satisfying ending, just a little abrupt.

Graphic novel of a robot family trying to fit in as human.

Overall, I really enjoyed it, although I found the first half to be better than the second half. I could have done without all of the supplemental materials in the back of the compilation. Other than seeing some of the cover art ideas, I ignored the rest (letters, process pages, etc.)
