I finished this at 3am so I immediately went to sleep, but I had to come on here and say that I am shocked that this moved me as much as it did. For a family of robots, I cared a lot about them coming out okay in the end, even when they did things that were challenging to read about. This had me gasping at some points, and close to tears at others. Its style of detached narration gave it a feel of unease with very minimal dialogue. The hallowed out look of the synthezoid's eyes added the the unsettling atmosphere, and yet, at times they felt more human than their actual human counterparts. Overall, this was an excellent introduction into the Marvel Universe, and wow, I sure hope I can find more runs like this :)
Still one of the greats. Superhero comics rarely get this good at portraying humanity, so it's not so weird that a book with androids ends up being successful at it.

Ok so my review is going to be a bit skewed because I read this over three months and it's really short so I feel like I missed out on a lot of motifs and stuff, since I mainly read one twenty-page issue every now and again (which is quite short, especially since this is quite light on words as well).
I did really appreciate the visual storytelling in this, and the planting and payoff sequences were really smart. I also feel like there's a message in it somewhere about AI and morality, but it's quite foggy and the story mainly hones in on this tragedy structure - which is an interesting take for a superhero comic, but for my money not the most interesting.
I'm also sorry if I've missed a lot of the nuance in this - I already feel like I need to reread it barely after finishing it.
