I wanted more wrap up. We spent a lot of time getting to know these characters and investing in their stories and it felt like the end was abrupt.

I had a hard time rating this book because it fell somewhere in the middle for me—it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad either, so I landed on 3 stars. The story definitely brought the drama and had plenty of ‘tea,’ which kept things interesting. It centers around the intense political divide in the U.S. and how that tension can deeply affect personal relationships. The main plot follows a gay couple navigating their marriage while one partner runs for Congress as a Republican and the other is a far left liberal. There’s also a subplot involving a lesbian relationship, which adds another layer, though at times it felt a bit scattered. Overall, it was an okay read, but not one I’d personally recommend.

Didn’t really know what this was about going into it. SO. Much. Politics. Was not a fan. All the characters high key suck and have major flaws

Very interesting premise, not great execution. I wish we had focused more on the guys, and we had gotten chapters from the Republican candidate’s pov. A lot of the political aspects, and even some of the queer aspects, felt stereotypical and a bit online. Still a good read, though

I was intrigued to read about how the 4 main characters dealt with different moral dilemmas and the effects on their respective marriages. Because like, really, what would you do if the person you married slowly became a raging conservative?! That said, it was a bit of a slower read and definitely more character-driven than plot-driven.
