The book is largely theoratical, with little emperical evidence to back the claims. The theory itself is intresting.
Without rambling too much, there are two things staying with me from this book.
1. The way trauma influences society intergenerationally.
2. How commonly and easily children are traumatised by medical procedures.
Read, but keep in mind that theories sre useless without evidence.

Had I not previously read about stress and the stress cycle, this would have seemed altogether too woo-woo for me. As it is though, it was interesting to gain further insight into somatic therapy.

Informative read on the whole. Some takes are out-dated but most of it stands.

Quoted Woody Allen, the known predator. Lost all faith in this book after that.

The book is good, but read with caution since the whole thing is about trauma and it goes into detailed descriptions of people's trauma such as rape etc. I found that part a bit disturbing.

Not that the book itself was bad I just really didn’t enjoy it and found it quite a slog to get through

Trauma is energy and the need to release that energy makes sense to me.
Audiobook narrator had a bit of an annoying voice to me.

Very helpful in untangling a lot of what is wrapped into trauma. This book is specific to shock trauma but it was still very informative. More useful then body keeps the score in my opinion.
