Characters in this book grabbed me and held on tight.
Finley: doing her best to come to terms with being a medium and determining how being as she is will impact her future. At twenty she has her future ahead of her. I want to know more about her.
Rainer: loved Finley and followed her from Seattle to The Hollow. I do hope he and Finley will get their happily ever after eventually.
Eloise: Finley’s grandmother who has worked as a medium assisting P.I. Jones Cooper find missing people.
Abbey: a little girl taken against her will one horrible day.
Bobo: damaged and unforgettable.
Jason: a young man who may show up in the next book if it is part of a series.

Well written with perspectives given from various viewpoints and a plot that drew me in and kept me reading – I found this a powerful story with chilling, dark, intense elements that were all intertwined together to make a splendid if not always happy read. I loved it and loved not being able to fully predict the ending. I also liked the fact that the flaws of characters were not glossed over but instead were exposed allowing me to experience emotions that I would not otherwise have felt. Great story and great writing! I have read that there were books that preceded this one but this is a story able to stand alone.

Thank you to Touchstone and NetGalley for the copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

4.5 Stars

Mystery thrillers are generally not my cup of tea but this one just did it for me and the paranormal vibe was the icing on the cake. It took me a week to read it and that's only because I had to put it down to go to work (boring). Suspenseful, sad, and even a bit disturbing, Ink and Bone is a thriller that delivers.

This was a long winding journey with a LOT going on. I enjoyed the overall atmosphere and the creepy vibes of The Hollow. The connections between people and the spirit realm felt read well done - there was so much to dive into. I did find the book to be on the verge of overly drawn out and the ending (especially the epilogue) was not super satisfying, dropping this one from a solid 4 to a 3.5 star read for me.

Ink and Bone is set in The Hollows and switches from the viewpoint of Finley and Penny. Finley is the granddaughter of a renowned physic who is enlisted by the local detective to help find a missing little girl. The story line of the little girl is a difficult read as she is abducted by a truly evil man. For those who can handle the constant tugs on the heartstrings, it can be a quick and interesting read.

This one was difficult to rate. It was a good book with lots of mystery and suspense. But it also had parts that were a little confusing and left me a little lost. I had a difficult time determining if a scene was currently happening or just a vision. All in all, I enjoyed it and would recommend it to fans of the suspense genre. Thanks to Netgalley for providing a review copy of this book.

I enjoyed when it got to the actiony parts in the woods. BUT took a but to get into.
There are also a few things I found confusing. Like when going between the names of the ghost girls. I know that was a big part of the ending but it really had me confused. Also. What happened to Rainer in the mine shafts? He fell in. Followed a ghost to Fin. Then what? He completely drops off the map until the very very end.
I also think that if I read the other Hollows books before hand it would have made a little bit more sense with some if the side story stuff with Agatha. But idk.
