The technical plane talk at the very end leading up the the crash was just a mood killer because it was so robotic to read. There was hardly any emotion.
I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop the whole time, and the whole plot was such a flat line. There was never a moment where I was moved or really felt that coming-of-age arc.
Moderate: Death and Death of parent

It was a slow reading, also because I've had less time to read it, but I loved every minute of it.
It's amazingly written and described, felt the anxiety of some specific moments, and even felt how with Edward's depression you lost track of time along with him, I loved seeing a new chapter and being like "what do you mean is already winter?", is the first book that has made me feel that.
Other thing I absolutely loved is how during the plane trip you could be inside everyone's minds, know a bit of their lives, their thoughts, their experiences, their last wishes, as short as the paragraphs of them could be they were strong enough to feel a connection with them and be heartbroken when /that/ happened. This book was amazing as well at describing grief.
I truly loved it, along with his growth and the decisions he was making, even how you could notice something changing with his friendship as the years passed but the books never being about JUST that, it never romantized the trauma, the healing, anything, which is something I found really important.
I would definitely recommend it to someone, as long as they don't get anxious easily with this sort of thing.

Favorite quote: “What happened is baked into your bones, Edward. It lives under your skin. It’s not going away. It’s part of you and will be part of you every moment until you die. What you’ve been working on, since the first time I met you, is learning to live with that.”
