For the main part I loved this book. The tension between Asher and Billie was there and I did like their weird hate dynamic they had going on. At times it did seem a little ridiculous that two grown adults would act that way and eventually it does get explained. However, where I really fell for the MC’s was once they stopped the constant bickering and actually had a proper conversation in the Hampton’s. That was where their true personalities shone. Asher wasn’t just the arrogant dgaf attitude he portrayed and Billie wasn’t the confident Ice Queen. She had vulnerabilities and I loved seeing that part of her.
Where I did question things was firstly, the whole enemies to lovers vibe. Yes, they were true enemies but why? It was never explained properly. They met at Stanford, Asher was immediately a jerk calling her an Ice Queen and telling her to stay away from him. At their first interaction. Then proceeds to push and poke at her for the next 10+ years. Billie was just reacting to the way Asher treated her so I don’t blame her but give me a real reason why you hate each other please.
Also the last bit at the end which I know is setting up the next book but if you’ve been friends with someone for over 20 years, best friends at that, and you immediately believe the man you’ve just met over your friend I’m gonna be annoyed. Do better Harper, and you’d need to do some serious apologising if you were my friend.
My favourite is still The Wife Situation, 6 star read for me, and I think it’s because it wasn’t bogged down with a lot of meddlesome friends and family members. Even though that’s exactly how they got together it’s a part of the plot we don’t see, and it’s better for it.

I did receive an arc from the author and this is my honest review.

Oooo this book is one of the best office romances that I’ve read in a while. I used to love this trope way back when and I couldn’t stop reading them but I haven’t been able to find ones that give me that type of feel in years until this one, it was a fun enemies to lovers, where they are also rivals and it’s all so wonderful from start to finish. I loved the games, the mind tricks, the plans and scheming, and literally everything about this book. Adding in the romance storyline between Asher and Billie have chemistry that is off the charts and I literally love how everyone and everything shows it in each scene they have together, the pictures were described so well of the two that I could easily picture them in my head so vividly.

Billie’s company is on the edge of ruin when her ex starts stealing her designs and selling them for a cheaper price, when Asher goes to work with her ex to make her bleed cause well business is cutthroat, and the rest of the story does not play out at all like I think it would, besides these two ending up together. Billie hates Asher with every bone of her body but is also so attracted to Asher she constantly ends up hate kissing him and I found that hilarious. It was so hot and so fun, that I literally didn’t want to put this book down!

The ending leading to Harper’s book shocked me, I thought she’d have a different trope, but I am excited for the possible suspense storyline coming. Can’t wait!

Asher and Billie were so hot and explosive and so much.

I love a good enemies to lovers and these two delivered on that. I loved the tension, the chemistry and the passion once things snapped. These two were messy and drama filled for sur.

Billie is what you call a bad bi*ch. She held her own and wasnt afraid to own her shit.

Archer took me a little bit to enjoy. He had his moments that I just wanted to strangle him but slowly over time he started to win me over.

Can't wait for the next book

The Boss Situation by Lyra Parish, book three in the Billionaire Situation series, is a wonderful, heartbreaking yet heartwarming, sizzling, brother’s best friend, hate to love story. Asher Banks and Billie Calloway have been enemies since they bumped into each other in college; becoming rivals to be the best. Thirteen years later Asher is CEO of his own marketing firm and Billie owns Bellamore, a fashion design business. Everyone knows these two are mortal enemies but it is outright war when Asher teams up with Billie's jealous ex to bankrupt her company.

Asher cannot stop thinking about Billie and the chemistry between them. As Asher reveals secrets that he has kept from Billie, she finally realizes why they are always being pulled toward each other. Things become complicated when feelings become involved as the attraction they have tried to ignore becomes impossible to resist; a reminder of that fine line between hate and love.

The chemistry between Asher and Billie sparked, igniting the world around them. This was an enjoyable journey as they traveled from enemies to lovers through their anger, sarcasm, pranks, and sass to sweet and tender moments. It was wonderful catching up with Billie’s brothers, Weston, Easton and their beautiful wives. The story did end with a set-up for the next book in this series, a story I can’t wait to read.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy prior to purchasing this book.
