This book was true enemies to lovers perfection. Billie runs a fashion brand with her best friend, but when her ex teams up with her ultimate rival, Asher, things get messy fast.
The hate banter was top tier. The tension was almost unbearable, in the best way. I was just waiting for them to snap… and when they did? Worth it 🌶️
❤️Billionaire
💍Enemies to lovers
❤️College rivals
💍Witty banter
❤️CEO heroine
💍It's always been her
❤️Older brother's friend
💍Dash of suspense
❤️Spicy
💍Stand-alone
The Boss Situation is one of my favorite reads of 2025! Easily.
I was introduced to Lyra Parish when I saw this book and new I wanted to read it. So I quickly read books one and two of the series, The Wife Situation and The Friend Situation. I IMMEDIATELY fell in love. I even told my husband that I felt she writes like how I would talk or write a book if I could. So I was entranced. Read all three books in a weekend.
What I loved about the Boss
-MFC is badassssss. She gives zero craps about going against the grain to get what she wants. Stand in her way and you will regret it. Hot, sexy, fiery, rich on her own.
-The MMC is a smart, good-looking billionaire who falls first.
-Enemies to lovers that was well written. Wasn't expedited or rushed because of pages or anything.
-There was easter eggs dropped (like in her others) for what's to come for the next couple.
-There was TONS of spice. It's by no means PG.
-Parish's characters are well thought of and the plot very well executed. The family relationship is so nice to read about.
What I didn't like:
-Overall? That it had to end. The Boss Situation just came out so now I have to wait a while for book 4 and the next set of characters to be released.
I was enthralled all weekend. The Boss Situation (and the first two books) along with Easton, Weston, Billie and their partners will live rent free in my head for a long, long time.

Asher Banks totally embodies being a an Ash-hole, but for all the right reasons. He's a cutthroat business man who was successful at what he did because he did his homework and knew when to act. Billie Calloway, aka the Ice Queen and Diamond Princess, has nothing but huge dislike for the man. Ever since they met at Stanford they rubbed each other the wrong way, but they tolerated each other because of his friendship with her twin brothers Easton and Weston. Now her company is in trouble and everyone thinks that the only one who can save it is Asher.
Oh the banter between Billie and Asher was top notch! The love/hate thing they had going on kept me captivated. Asher kept everything so close to the vest. He was this mysterious person who had backup plans for the backup plan. Always one step ahead. No one should have underestimated Billie. She was a force all her own and had a few things up her sleeve. My heart when they had their no holds barred conversation and the way they ended up together. The way they both tormented each other! OMG! I had so many laugh out loud moments while reading.
Weston and Easton and their HEAs were great, but Billie and Asher hold the top for me.
I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

I thought I was ready for Asher Banks…y’all LET ME TELL YOU! I was in fact NOT READY! AND Billie “The Ice Queen” Calloway, can I just say “YOU GO GIRL!” Their love to hate story had me feeling some type of way, and I am not mad about it. This series has been fantastic and I can’t wait for Brody’s book next!!!
Looking for a true enemies-to-lovers romance where the hatred is believable and intense and the romance just as passionate and spicy? It’s this one…one that also expertly weaves together billionaires, fashion, a lot of humor and a bit of intrigue too. The tension, banter and chemistry between Billie, the strong-willed, gorgeous CEO of her fashion company Asher, the handsome and protective CEO of his marketing firm is truly dynamic. Once they open up and release their true feelings, the duo is unstoppable in both their professions and love. I appreciated the cameos from the twins, as well as the lead up to the next in the series. I know I will forever be recommending this book as one of the best romances for the enemies-to-lovers trope.

From start to finish, Asher and Billie’s story gripped me and didn’t let go - I loved every angsty, angry, lusty, revenge-filled, loving moment.
THOUGHTS 💭
💎 Billie is relatively down to earth, despite being a “diamond princess;” she’s smart and works hard for what she’s got, which I admire in a FMC.
💎 Asher knows how to push all of Billie’s buttons; he’s a smart businessman and a MASSIVE shit-stirrer/self-proclaimed a$$hole.
💎 The chemistry between these two is next-level. They can’t stay away from each other, despite their hatred for one another, and their hate turns into the hottest spice and the BEST love.
💎 I enjoy the over-the-top things that happen in billionaire romances; the clothes are Gucci, the MCs have multiple houses/apartments, and money is no issue.
💎 There are surprises littered throughout this book that I didn’t see coming, which kept me locked in on this book until the last page.
💎 THAT ENDING!! Though out MCs got their HEA, it feels like things are just getting started… and I can’t wait for the next book!
Thanks so much to Lyra Parish for the ARC of this book!

Billie and Asher have been enemies and at each other's throats since their college days. Billie owns her on fashion company and needs a little help but absolutely refuses to let Asher help her. She is seriously a boss babe and I love her for it! Unbeknownst to her though, Asher has his own plan.
The tension & banter between them was literally about as good as it gets! Their hate was strong but goodness, when they give in it leads to absolute fire! 🥵 I loved how we see their relationship develop as they started letting their guard down. But it was definitely a slow burn. There were also some plot twists that I didn't see coming so I'm intrigued and looking forward to the next book!!
