I found all of the religious topics interesting and I liked their notion of interconnecting. My favorite character was Lucy but I definitely liked everyone from the rest of the group as well.

You can decide you were wrong about something, and it doesn’t mean you were stupid. You just know more now. If I still thought the same as I did in seventh grade, I’d be worried.

This was excellent.

oh this was just so amazing and lovely, funny but still serious and educating!!!
i love it so much!!

What could be the worst thing that happens to an atheist? For Michael that is having to attend a new school in a new town, but not just any school. A Catholic School. No friends until he meets Lucy, possibly another non-believer after she challenges a school teacher, a nun nonetheless! But Michael is in for a world of revelations. Great humor story.

4/5 stars!

I read this book for Contemporary-a-Thon to fulfill the prompt "Beloved by Another Booktuber" so shout out to Heathur.

I really enjoyed a lot of aspects of this book. The discussion on religions and acceptance was really amazing. I loved how diverse the group of friends was in their beliefs and identities, it showed that it is possible to respect each in that sense without completely agreeing.

I liked how unlikeable Michael was at times and how I found myself seeing his side and the side of the person/people he was disagreeing with throughout the whole novel. It really made me think and I never had a conclusive thought on who I thought was right. The family stuff touched in this book was some of the most realistic I've seen in a YA book and I loved it.

What I didn't really care for was the romance. I liked their dynamic and their friendship and what they could teach each other, but I felt like the learning/development was a little too one sided for my taste. I kinda wish they would have just been friends instead of anything more.

Overall, I really liked this book. It was thought provoking, short, and funny.

I wish I had read this book in high school.

This was a nice little story. Got a little more religiousy than I'd like, but not too preachy. Some romance, but not in a teen angst way.
Some language.
Talk of sex, but nothing graphic.
Characters are around 16, but I'd give it to anyone.
