i really liked this book and all the social and fun things it brought up. Made me want to try catholic school for a day.
It's a great concept that opens lots of discussion, but it felt very YA to me. I didn't totally click with it.
I love this book so, so much! It's sweet, funny, touching, sad, and powerful all at once. I found it to be a moving tale and really appreciated the honesty and insight the author provided with the first-person perspective. There's a lot of really good commentary in this book.
This book is absolutely amazing, I really loved reading it and I could not put it down! 😍😍😍
About tolerance and hope. A good book for the times. Also, the audiobook is great!

How did I get to this book? A YA book about a Catholic high school? I don’t know how this landed on my reading list, but frankly, I’m glad it did. When I first started it, I wasn’t aware it was YA, and I’m not opposed, I just wasn’t thinking about it. Then it became a little clearer as the book went on (the subject matter, the pace of reading, etc) but I was hooked by then. Sure, it’s probably a little below my standard reading fare, but we’ve all been to high school and we’ve all had parents and relationships and angst, so at least we know what’s going on. So, it’s interesting and at least it didn’t seem formulaic. The characters are interesting and not everything is wrapped up in a tidy bow at the end, so it’s worth your while.

I really loved this audiobook. I listened to the entire book over the course of a day because it kept me hooked. The characters were so engaging and the messages the author tried to deliver transcend the fiction life of Michael, Avi, Lucy, Max and Eden are things I'd encourage anyone to take in. I truly loved the representation of friendship in this book. They have their ups and downs, they continually learn from one other, and for the most part, want to see the best in one another. I initially wasn't sure about my feelings toward Michael but you seem him grow throughout the book and undertake a journey of self-discovery, acceptance, and forgiveness. As someone who didn't grow up in a religious household, I wasn't initially planning on picking up this book but I'm so glad I did. It offered different perspectives and I found pieces of myself in many of the characters even if they were so different from me. I highly recommend this read

Micheal is an atheist. He is also the new kid in a school that just happens to be catholic. Lucky for him he isn't the only outcast in the school, soon he is befriended by Lucy, the devout catholic who wants to be a priest, Avi, who is Jewish and gay, Eden who practices polytheism, and Max a Unitarian who happens to be autistic. Together they make up Heretics Anonymous.
Micheal wakes up their sleepy little club and takes them from a study group to a force for change in their school.
I loved this book. It is one for the misfits. It had a lot of heart and a truly fun plot. Highly recommend.
