I loved this book so much more than I thought I would. Although I am not an atheist like Michael or a Catholic like Lucy, or a Pagan like Eden or Jewish and gay like Avi, I still really enjoyed this book, and I think everyone should read this book.

Michael is moving to yet another new town, and this time he has to attend a Catholic school, while being an atheist, and he is positive he is not going to like it or fit in. However, when Lucy speaks up in class and disagrees with a teacher, he thinks he might be able to find other non-Catholics, but boy is he wrong. Lucy is very into her faith, but will they still be able to be friends and do something to help make the school a place for everyone?

Highly recommend this book to those that enjoy realistic fiction, with a dash of romance and rule breaking, with a look at understanding others that are different from yourself.

This was a nice YA read it just didn’t wow me. I loved the creative approach to discussing faith, belief, judgement, etc.

This is definitely a character driven novel and I really enjoyed all of the characters. I would still recommend this book, especially to a younger audience it just wasn’t my favorite YA read ever.

Excellent read! Funny, relevant, interesting, and challenges you to think outside the box and question all authorities...

It was a fun read, but at some point the whole discussion about religion/god/faith became a bit too much.
