I read this after seeing the movie. It's really interesting, but I have to say that whoever edited the screenplay did a fantastic job of refining this into a masterpiece.
As it stands, Stardust is pretty good! I was a little thrown off by the gratuitous sex scene at the start, which seemed truly unnecessary and kind of broke the "fairy tale" charm for a moment, but it was charmingly written and a definitely fun adventure.
As an intro to Gaiman's work, it was so-so. I think I'll try something else next time.

This was my first Neil Gaiman book, and after watching the film many years ago I thought I'd give the book a go. I really enjoyed this, and it was different enough from the film to get immersed in a different way without comparing it to the film. I'd recommend reading it and I have a list of friends and family who now want to borrow it to read! Definitely looking to read more Neil Gaiman books, easy to read, wonderful writing.
