3.75 - sweet, cozy read

Neil Gaiman is my favorite author and I generally adore his work but the movie is better than his book for a number of reasons:
*The romance between Tristan and Yvaine feels more natural.
*Septimus is a more interesting character.
*Captain Shakespeare and the Lightning Pirates are in the movie.
*There's a big climactic fight scene involving all the major players with loads of creative elements.

The book is good but the movie was great.

This was a fun and enjoyable read, I liked it a lot. Some parts were predictable, others really funny and were kind of horrifying but at the same time not. The ending wasn’t what I would have expected it to be, but it fit the story I think.
adventurous funny lighthearted fast-paced

almost thought I hallucinated all of this

A modern-day Phantastes where nonsensical things just are without pages of logical justification.
