Another book down! This one I finished in under 20 days! I absolutely loved @emilygiffinauthor writing style and this book kept me on my toes the entire time. This was the first book I have read from Emily Giffin and I will for sure be picking up more from her in the future! I am giving this book 5⭐️ because it was just that good. Slight disclaimer though, this book does talk about 9/11 and the events that happened during that time, so it could be a touchy subject to some. Overall an amazing novel and amazing ending. It ended just the way I wanted it to!

I’m not sure if I’m satisfied with the conclusion of this book but as always Emily griffin is enjoyable to read

NetGalley ARC | One of my most anticipated book releases of June 2020, Giffin's The Lies That Bind offers a quick, engaging romance set against the more intense backdrop of 9/11.

If you are looking for a book club book that will leave you with thought-provoking questions, The Lies That Bind forces you to examine and ask whether or not the truth can really set us free. Is love ever pure and untainted, and is love still love even when mixed with false realities?

Thank you so much to the publisher for providing me with a free advanced copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Normally any book I start and finish in one day gets 5 stars, but this one just didn’t hit the mark. Mostly because I didn’t like the short, neatly tied up with a pretty ribbon, ending. Overall the story was fine, Giffin is clearly an excellent author, but this one just didn’t stand up to her earlier works.

Truly intriguing story, but then a little surprised how quickly it all wrapped up.

Girl meets boy. Some things happen, but "true love" prevailed. Which irked me because any story based on a first blush "romantic spark" (especially when surrounded by all the lies this title mentions) doesn't capture the effort behind building a relationship, the enjoyment of growing trust. This book misses all that. It also tries to be about female empowerment but in my eyes fails on all respects.

A quick read and nice love story, but the setting of 9/11 brought back so many memories. #neverforget

Not my typical read but it felt like good trash TV, I couldn’t stop. Quick read with lots of twists and turns.

Emily Giffin has taken her story telling to a new level with this novel. Set mainly in New York, she paints a vivid picture of life in the city. Cecily has moved to the city to find her dreams, her dream job, her dream man and her dreamed future. She thinks she knows what she wants. Cecily wants the fairytale, but what she gets is far from Prince Charming. This is a story of a woman who has to decide if settling is enough. This is a story of a woman who has to make choices that no one should have to make. This is a story of a woman that must decide when the lies become not lies that bind, but lies that break. Giffin is a master storyteller who once again captivates her readers with a story that is hard to put down. This book is due to come out this summer and would be the perfect beach read. If you love contemporary fiction, chick-lit or rocky romance this is a book for you. I give it 4 stars. I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
