found the writing to by very poorly done, couldnt get over the lack of detail and plot. i found the story to be very similar to many others I have read..... that mixed with the complete lack of thought-out plot line i just couldnt do it. i read this as a filler while waiting for onyx storm to come out, going from fourth wing to this level of writing made me want to cry.

At page 105 I actually texted my friend saying:

Spoilers ahead:

“I’m on page 105. She’s clearly the forgotten daughter of the queen in the prologue and a half vampire half fae that will find the remaining sane vampires once she turns 25 and needs blood to survive and the dark angel dude is probably an undercover vampire also or something. Idk yet. “

Every prediction came through. Am I psychic, or was it bad writing? You can be the judge of that.

This was a fun easy/quick read, definitely a vibe read especially if you don’t pay or care too much about details and don’t need a lot of information to enjoy a story.

There is a fine line between too much and not enough information and in this case it is laking a LOT of information to make this a great or even better/quality read.
It kinda feels like nothing really happened because so much seem to be missing. The FMC also seem to flip flop between personalities just to help the storyline which was little annoying.

The pace was still good and story is interesting enough to continue.

Oh, how I just love when it it so easy to give a book 5 stars without a second of hesitation.
And Emily, Wings so Wicked is a 5 stars book, for sure!

I need to thank Emily first for including me in her ARC team, I'm so grateful for it. I love being included in ARC teams, but not every ARC is as good as this one.

The story is (I say is, because this is only book 1 in the series) so good, it is fast-paced, packed with action, without lacking in character development. Huntyr and Wolf, the main characters, are portrayed beautifully, we see so many sides of them, both good and bad ones. We see how they both hurt, feel and try to do better, even in the circumstances around them.

I don't want to reveal too much of the plot, but trust me, you have vampires, vampire hunters, fallen angels, plots yet to be revealed, betrays to tear your hearts apart, friendships, blossoming feelings, love, and pure agony.

Yes, Emily leaves us in pure agony with the biggest cliffhanger ever, and now my heart suffers until I know what will happen next.

p.s. I always say, how do I know if a book is that good? Well, I read Wings so Wicked, my first book by Emily Blackwood and my next step? I dived right into her other series, Fae of Rewyth. I think that says it all :)

This was a fun read! Does it have some issues? Sure. There’s not much world building, it’s fairly predictable, and almost all the plot happens in like the last 30% of the book. I didn’t mind the cliffhanger because I saw most of it coming.

But the characters are beautiful and complex. The interactions between them are excellent, and completely drive the story. They made it really enticing for me to read, and I’m happy I picked this up!
