I adore this world and Patrick Rothfuss’ writing. I am so desperate for the final book in this series

Even though I am annoyed that book 3 of the main story is not out yet, I'll still read anything this man writes. Because it's fantastic, even if it goes nowhere soon. Like life ❤️

Truly, no one writes fantasy like Patrick Rothfuss does. So many fantasy books are written with such mundane and modern language that it doesn’t feel right. It feels mediocre. Rothfuss has perfected the language of fantasy. This 200-page number outshines so many fantasy books in writing alone.
This book was short, and made even shorter by including illustrations (which are so gorgeous—illustrated by Nate Taylor), but it was such a poignant supplement to the Kingkiller Chronicle. This little book packed a punch and it *almost* had me in tears (hello grew up in a dysfunctional household full of abuse & alcoholism 🙋🏻♀️). I’ve felt how Rike felt. I didn’t have a Bast to make a deal with and send the bad family members packing, but in a way I became my *own* Bast when I grew up; a woman who would’ve protected me as a child, a woman who would protect kids in any way she can.
This book is short as it details 1 singular day from Bast’s POV, so I don’t want to speak too much on it as it would be very easy to spoil.
If you love fantasy, if you love well-written works of genius that leave you awestruck, read Rothfuss!
