This is an absolutely brilliant prequel! Highly recommend if an Avatar franchise fan!

I've loved the Avatar franchise for years. This book is a worthy prequel. It's exciting and has a lot of action. It's more brutal than both the Korra and Aang shows.

Loved it! It’s a perfect addition to the Avatar Canon. I love the world building and I thought it was fun to see the origin stories of things I recognize from the series. It touches on some heavy topics, like the show but in a way that is a service to younger readers.

Not much to say. Its ATLA, its 5 stars.
Kyoshi is a badass.

I finish reading this book right at 11:59 and even tho my eyes are so tired right now BUT THIS IS SO WORTH IT BECAUSE OH MY GOSH AVATAR KYOSHI?!?!?!!! I think I’m in love with her. I’d do anything for her at this point

While this is a return to ATLA it’s got a very different vibe to it. The book is a lot more serious than the show.

Personally, I didn’t connect with the story. That’s not to say it was bad, it just wasn’t for me. Which is a shame because I love ATLA.
