i started reading this book a long ass time ago. The first four books i loved, but i felt as though this one just was a repeat of the other books. New characters kept on getting added, yet we don’t get to see any of the old and beloved characters.
I know if i keep reading this it is gonna put me in a slump, so i’m not doing it.

This was a really great installation in the series. We see Anne "settling down", but staying as magnetic and fresh as ever. I love Montgomery's revolving cast of side characters so much. Miss Cornelia is a new favorite of mine (although I do still miss Marilla very much). It is hard seeing all Anne's education and job experience being used for... like, literally nothing? But that's pretty standard for the time and I don't know what else I expected.
I think having Anne struggle with a was a good choice. It's so very common and rarely written about and I think it sobered up a main character who often seems a little too good to be true.
Honestly, I didn't expect Montgomery to write about Anne and Gilbert's sex life because these books are oh so sterile in that respect, but the stork thing was absolutely painful. The sly way the first pregnancy was hinted at and announced works just fine and I don't know why she had to go all metaphorical on us for the second one.
