Anne’s wedding and first years as a young married. Beginning was very nostalgic with old friends. Lots of melodrama, but at least there are fewer characters to keep track of.

“The woods call to us with a hundred voices, but the sea has one only — a mighty voice that drowns our souls in its majestic music. The woods are human, but the sea is of the company of the archangels.”

Ana es un ángel, la historia es demasiado bonita y te da un gram sentimiento ver como los personajes han evolucionado. La amo:3

I didn't enjoy the previous book quite as much as the first three, so I was wondering if the rest of the series would be the same. Not so with this book, I found it beautiful, compelling, and encouraging. Anne deals with some trials and challenges in this book that could break her and leave her with big questions for God. She comes through them in a way that encouraged me and I could relate to on many levels. This is probably my favorite of the series aside from the first.

i always hate when i finish a series i’ve loved

Anne's House of Dreams somehow touched me in a different way than the other books. It's so calm and peaceful. Captain Jem is one of my favorite characters, gentle and firm and humorous and wistful. And Leslie Moore... I don't know why I connected so well with the characters, but they're all so deep, flawed, yes, and far more complex than at first glance. Beautiful, beautiful piece <3

Finally, the married life of Anne and Gilbert! This is what I've been waiting for. It's so sweet and lovely.

That said, the book had it's fair share of heartbreak for the couple and for those around them. There were also some surprises that left me completely flabbergasted.

House of Dreams is filled with the beautiful descriptions we know and love from LM Montgomery, transporting us right to PEI.

I absolutely loved this chapter of Anne's life.

I have to admit the only reason I read this book was because it was assigned for my Literature and Love class this semester. I’d never really heard of this series before. I didn’t have high hopes for it. For one it kind of bothered me I was reading it very much out of order from the series, but what could I do? My professor gave us a good summary of the series at least. And another thing was that it just wasn’t my normal type of book. I’m into young adult, thrillers, mystery, and crime, sometimes a bit of romance, and this wasn’t it. The beginning, and even into near the middle, I thought it was incredibly boring! Everything was too good and happy, I needed some type of action! And, thankfully, I got it. This is the only reason I am giving this book four stars (and also because I’m very generous with them lol). The last half of the book really hooked me and it was a very nice read if you can get past the beginning!
