The contrast between Anne's and Leslie's lives is interesting; I like how Montgomery addresses, in her words, "the riddle of the universe—the WHY of undeserved pain." Anne's House of Dreams has a calm and serene atmosphere populated by colorful characters.

A sweet homecoming and delightful visit with Anne and her family.

November 2012
This book almost always makes me want to get married and settle down and have a baby. That moment when Anne finally gets Jem just makes me swoon - so sweet!

Probably one of my favorite books in the series. Love that first few years with Anne and Gilbert and they grow into themselves.
emotional funny fast-paced

Previously read in August 2012, updated for re-read

I am now pretty damn convinced that the books are winners every other time. So far, I've loved books #1, #3, and #5. However, as you'll see in my review, the books as we read them today are not the order in which they were published!

Check out my review of Anne's House of Dreams in which I explain how the characters are more complex, and Anne is challenge in news ways and faces grief that she has not previously encountered.

I think this was my favorite Anne book so far! I love the romantic setting, Capt Jim, and Leslie's story.
